College student working at the JFK Center for the Performing Arts gift shop, run by volunteers, where roughly $150,000 in cash went missing annually. Suspecting a single thief, he ran a sting operation with a detective and caught one volunteer stealing $60 — but the theft continued unchanged afterward, revealing that many volunteers, not one, were each stealing a small, individually-rationalized amount.
